Grateful Geek: Phenomenal Woman

This week, prolific writer and activist, Maya Angelou, passed away.

Much has already been said about her and her work. She was undoubtably a wonderful writer, but I have always preferred to hear her speak. There’s no better way to see personality and wisdom shine through.

She was inspiring not just because she was a very accomplished woman of color, but because she lived boldly and poetically, always open and encouraging.

My favorite quote by Dr Angelou is: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Beautifully said. RIP.
